Update on Sailfish Fishing Best Practices
In CR Fishing Charters we ensure that our crews are up to date with the best, environmental friendly fishing practices.
One update that we received from the sportfishing leading organizations in Costa Rica is that sailfish should not be brought into into the boat on the catch-and-release procedure. This creates less stress on the Sailfish and prevents the skin loosing its protective mucus.
We are eager to do our part on promoting this practice so that future generations enjoy Costa Rica sportfishing.

Costa Rica opens borders for New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut travelers. Amazing fishing awaits you!
Costa Rica is opening its borders to foreign travelers from New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut starting September 1st.
Costa Rica also announced measures to which travelers must adhere for their visit:
- Travelers must fill and present this epidemiological survey.
- Travelers must present a negative PCR coronavirus test which results must have been received within 48 hours before their travel to Costa Rica.
- Travelers must have travel insurance that covers medical care or an unexpected extended hotel stay.
- Travelers must follow all airport and local health protocols. (Daniel Oduber LIR airport protocol / Juan Santamaria SJO airport protocol)
